Arctic Monkeys Loved Miley Cyrus’ Cover of ‘Why’d You Only Call Me When You’re High?’

The Arctic Monkeys’ favourite cover version of their song ‘Why’d You Only Call Me When You’re High?’ is rather unlikely, as drummer Matt Helders praised Miley Cyrus’ take on the AM track.

Speaking to Australian radio station Triple J, Helders explained that Miley Cyrus’ cover of the song, which she performed during her MTV: Unplugged set last year, was the Monkeys’ personal pick of the bunch. When asked if he was being sarcastic, Helders replied: “No, she did some bits in there I wish we’d have done. She gets higher than we can… in the voice.”

Watch the performance below.

During their time at the radio station, the Arctic Monkeys’ performed a cover of their own, playing a rendition of Tame Impala’s ‘Feels Like We Only Go Backwards’. You can watch that cover right here.
