First Images Surfaces of Call of Duty 2014, the First Truly Next-Gen CoD

Did you know a Call of Duty will release later this year? Okay, so it’s not too surprising, but if you happen to own a next-gen console then you have reason to be excited.

As covered by IGN, Sledgehammer Games has released its first ever image of the next Call of Duty title. The image was shown during a presentation at GDC 2014 and depicts the face of an American soldier. Although the image doesn’t show much other than his face, it’s the fact that Sledgehammer claims that the character model was captured in-game that makes it particularly noteworthy.

Activision has stated on several occasions that this year’s Call of Duty will properly utilize next-gen console hardware due to being developed on “next-gen first“. If this is how the characters look in-game, then I’m inclined to agree.
