RollerCoaster Tycoon 4’s PC and Mobile Versions Are ‘Completely Different’

It’s been a while since we’ve seen RollerCoaster Tycoon, so you’d think gamers would be excited when a new installment was announced last week. Actually, it was quite the contrary. Confirmation that it’ll be coming to iOS overshadowed any hype that Atari tried to build from the announcement. But there’s a key piece of information that many are missing.

RollerCoaster Tycoon 4 is not only being developed for mobile, but PC as well. More importantly, they are completely different. Atari senior director Anthony Chien shared the following while speaking to Digital Spy:

We can’t share that much, but [PC] will definitely be a completely different game.

The mobile version will have an entry fee in addition to free-to-play mechanics. Atari is betting on mobile striking it big. Thankfully, this invasive, albeit common, pricing format won’t be found in the PC version, although it’s likely to have DLC and/or expansion packs.

Below is the debut trailer of RollerCoaster Tycoon 4 Mobile which gives you an idea of what to expect.
