Exclusive Album Premiere: Neil Davidge Embarks on a Long-Awaited Solo Flight With ‘Slo Light’

A cornerstone of Massive Attack’s pioneering trip-hop strengths, legendary record producer, songwriter, musician and scorer Neil Davidge, embarks on a solo journey this week with the release of his new album, Slo Light. Set to be released on February 25th in the U.S. (ANZ Feb 28th, UK and ROW Mar 24th – pre-order now) via The End Records and 7 Hz Productions, CraveOnline is proud to bring fans the exclusive premiere album stream before its official unveiling. 

Featuring collaborations with some of the most talented rising artists of the day including Stephonik Youth, Karima Francis and Cate le Bon, the album represents a new creative journey for Davidge, who has worked with David Bowie, Damon Albarn, UNKLE, Mos Def, and Primal Scream, just to name a few. With crystalline production value and a kaleidoscopic sonic depth, the album straddles beauty and darkness with gorgeous balance. With work on The Matrix, Assassins Creed and Halo 4, Davidge has served as composer and writer of various film and TV projects, exploring other sonic pathways that also include Bullet Boy, Trouble The Water and, with Massive Attack, Danny The Dog. On Massive Attack’s majestic fourth album, 100th Window, Davidge worked closely alongside Robert Del Naja as a co-writer and co-producer.  He also co-wrote eight tracks, mixed and played keyboards, bass and guitar on the group’s latest album, the magnificently captivating Heligoland.
