Batman: Arkham City featured several clever boss battles, few more interesting than the encounter with Mr. Freeze. Although he was defeated, all signs point to him playing a major role in Batman: Arkham Origins‘ first major DLC package.

If the ice isn’t enough of a clue, the award certainly is. The same award was given to Bruce Wayne the same day he found that Victor Fries, also known as Mr. Freeze, had used cryogenic technology to protect his wife from death to buy himself time to research a cure. In other words, there’s a 99.9% chance that Mr. Freeze will be a major adversary in Batman: Arkham Origins‘ next DLC package.
Mr. Freeze was the star villain in Batman & Robin, which wasn’t a well-received film. However, he has appeared in television many times and has been featured in several popular Batman comics. His ability to withstand freezing temperatures and high level of intelligence make him a formidable opponent.
His appearance in Batman: Arkham City was a proper one. Some narrative groundwork was laid before Batman would combat him despite having a technological disadvantage. The only way to take him out was to use some finesse and timing. Some go as far as to say that he was the most enjoyable boss to fight in the entire game. His return is welcomed.
