Not heading to January’s Big Day Out? No need to stress; the festival released a list of Australian sideshows on Thursday.
Headliners Pearl Jam and Blur (making their first Down Under tour since 1997) are appearing in Australia exclusively to Big Day Out, but that doesn’t mean Aussie fans won’t receive additional performances from Arcade Fire and the other star acts on the top half of the bill.
With the vast majority of sideshows set for Melbourne and Sydney, promoter AJ Maddah explained via Twitter why Perth is never on the receiving end of additional shows from major acts, saying “mainly because WA does not but their festival tickets early enough to encourage promoters to schedule side shows.
Big Day Out kicks off on the Gold Coast on January 19 before visiting Melbourne (24th), Sydney (26th), Adelaide (31st) and Perth (Feb 2).
