Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes Gets PS3/PS4 Exclusive Content

After year of PlayStation exclusivity, the Metal Gear franchise is making the jump to multiplatform. Although this means PS fans will have to share one of their favorite series, they will get some special treatment of their own.

An image posted on Twitter by Hideo Kojima subtly reveals that Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes will have exclusive content on the PS3 and PS4. It isn’t clear what this content will entail, but if it’s similar to Assassin’s Creed‘s deal with Sony, an additional mission or two will be included. The Xbox One and Xbox 360 are unlikely to have any options, DLC or otherwise, for obtaining the content.

MGSV: Ground Zeroes is a prologue for MGSV: The Phantom Pain, a game that will arrive just months later. Many are expecting it to be similar to Metal Gear Solid 2‘s Tanker chapter, but at a price point of $30 many speculate that it will be either longer or have lots of gameplay options. Its open-world style, which is a first for the long-running series, could help with that.

Look out for MGSV: Ground Zeroes when it releases in Spring 2014.
