Damon Albarn is set to collaborate with Luther and The Wire actor Idris Elba on an upcoming album.
Along with Elba, Albarn will also be recording with the likes of Brian Eno and Holy Other, as he looks to put the spotlight on African musicians once again as part of his Africa Express project.
Albarn and his recruits will be flying to the impoverished Mali, where they will record music with local musicians in a youth hostile. The Guardian has also reported that Albarn is also working on a new Africa Express album that will feature the talents of Eno, Nick Zinner of Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Ghostpoet, and Pauli the PSM from Gorillaz.
