Grand Theft Auto V Coming to PC Early 2014, According to Sources

A Grand Theft Auto V PC port is being lined up for early 2014, according to sources.

Rockstar’s open-world crime epic could follow in the footsteps of the PC version of GTA4, which released a few months after its console counterparts. GTA5‘s inevitable PC release wasn’t exactly the best kept secret, with GPU manufacturer Nvidia letting the cat out of the bag in a presentation regarding upcoming high-profile PC game releases. Nvidia later retracted the announcement and Rockstar reiterated that they were not going to speculate on any other versions of the game outside of its PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 releases.

Intel’s Director of Marketing Chris R. Silva told PC Gamer that he believes it’s only a matter of time before Grand Theft Auto V is no longer a console exclusive, saying: “I don’t think it’ll be console exclusive [for] very long. But that’s what happens when you have a brand new launch with two companies that have lots of money trying to make sure they have content.”

When PC Gamer asked him why he thought Rockstar were keeping quiet about whether or not the game would make it over to PC, Silva said: “Somebody paid a lot of money to make sure that title was exclusive.”

If GTA5 does release on PC early next year, which I am pretty certain it will, I can’t wait to see what the modders do with it (and to play a version of GTA Online that hopefully works). Does this mean that we’ll see a PS4 and Xbox One version of the game in 2014, too?
