Little known fact about exploding British rockers Arctic Monkeys: frontman Alex Turner's distinctive 50's-era slicked-back greaser hairstyle originated in Austin, Tex.
So with that wealth of history to draw on, visitors to Austin City Limits 2013 had to know they were in for a spectacular set from the Sheffield crew as one of headline acts of Friday's Day 1.
The band is currently riding a wave of critical raves and their biggest stateside success in years following last month's release of their fifth studio album AM and its debut single, the foot-stomping "Do I Wanna Know?" In fact, Crave's own Johnny Firecloud was among the record's most enthusiastic admirers.
Turner and drummer Matt Helders took a moment before their Austin set to talk to CraveOnline about their fond memories of Austin, AM and the one song off the new release they most look forward to unleashing on the Lone Star crowd.
