New Stone Roses Album in 2015? Band “Refuse to Comment”

The Stone Roses have “refused to comment” on the speculation that they’ll be releasing a new album in 2015, after the band’s bassist Mani let slip that they were working on new material.

The iconic band, who are widely credited with spawning the British rock revival of the 90s, reformed in 2012 for a series of gigs and festival headline appearances, but have yet to release any new material.

Speaking to Gigslutz, Mani said that fans wouldn’t be waiting for much longer. “We’ve been working on a few bits”, he said, and when pushed for a date on when these bits would make their way into the form of a new LP, he replied: “2015, man, 2015!” However, when approached by NME regarding Mani’s comments, the band’s spokesperson said “no comment.”

The Stone Roses haven’t released an album since their heavily criticised 1994 LP Second Coming, which despite going platinum in the UK, ultimately led to the band splitting up.
