Album Premiere: Everlast – ‘The Life Acoustic’

All month we’ve been bringing you some powerful exclusive performances from Crave’s Band of The Month featured artist Everlast, as a prelude to the arrival of his upcoming new solo album, The Life Acoustic. It hits stores and digital shelves tomorrow via his Martyr Inc record label, but we’re bringing the party to you a full day early with the debut of the entire album, which you can hear below.

The Life Acoustic will feature reworked and stripped versions of signature Everlast songs and beyond, including “My Medicine,” which originally appeared on Snoop Dogg’s Ego Trippin’ album in 2008, an acoustic version of the monster House Of Pain anthem, “Jump Around” and more. Check it out!

We set up shop at Swing House studios in Los Angeles for an exclusive CraveOnstage session with Everlast, and the results were incredible. So far we’ve shared with you an exclusive performance of “Sad Girl,” the first track off The Life Acoustic, as well as a positively badass cover of “Children’s Story” by Slick Rick, and a powerful new take on “Stone In My Hand,” a song that takes on an added poignancy in today’s NSA-deluged world of stripped rights and rule-by-fear tactics.

We’ll bring you the final performance later this week, as well as a full, candid interview with the man they call Everlast. Be sure to pre-order the album now, which will be available on cd and vinyl on Tuesday, Aug. 27th.
