A new Super Smash Bros. stage has been revealed, and former SNES owners will recognise that it belongs to the classic old-school flight simulator Pilotwings.
The above screenshot of the stage was posted on the official Smash Bros. site, with game director Masahiro Sakurai also posting it on MiiVerse along with the comment: “This island looks familiar.”
Nintendo has said that the Wii U version of Smash Bros. will feature stages taken from console games while the 3DS version of the game will feature stages from handheld games, but as the Pilotwings series has appeared most recently on the 3DS, it is likely that this stage will appear exclusively on the portable console.
