Firefall Enters Open Beta, Everyone is Invited to Play for Free

Red 5 Studios was founded in 2005 with the sole purpose of delivering a blockbuster game with its staff of ex-Blizzard employees. The past eight years have been rocky, but the fruits of their labor have finally be released upon the world.

Firefall has entered open beta, opening the flood gates for anyone to play in the process. Although it’s considered beta, it’s more of a soft launch since character progress won’t be deleted come release day. Well, at least most of it, anyway. Experience and purchased items are guaranteed to be retained for launch, but everything else is dependent upon if Red 5 encounters any game-breaking bugs.

Those who enjoy their early experience in Firefall are encouraged to invest in a Starter Pack which will provide an array of benefits. However, investment isn’t necessary as It’s a fully free-to-play game. Red 5 is carefully crafting ways to earn money through its cash shop without compromising the game’s balance which is relies heavily upon.

To hype up the game, Red 5 has released a live-action trailer which offers insight into the game’s fictional world. There aren’t many trailers that are this cheesy so be sure to check it out below:
