Ottawa Bluesfest Is Underway

Ottawa Bluefest kicked off yesterday and will run till July 14th, with a number of major headlining acts including the Zac Brown Band, Flogging Molly, and more.

With five main stages, there’s no shortage of great tunes throughout the duration of the event. The American-born Zac Brown Band, which is one of this year’s main draws, have ten hit singles and two platinum-selling records under their belts, and they released their most recent album “Uncaged” last year. They’re also multi-award winning, amassing a number of CMT Music Awards and Grammys.

Meanwhile, Flogging Molly, an Irish-American Celtic punk band, released “Speed of Darkness” in 2011, and are not only appearing at Ottawa Bluesfest on July 5th but also have a second Canadian show scheduled in Toronto the following night at the Toronto Urban Roots Festival, which runs all this weekend. Visit the Urban Roots’ website for more info.

Gates for Bluesfest open at 5pm on weekdays and at noon on weekends. For info on parking, what’s available on-site, and more, check out the Bluesfest official website.
