Zombies have overtaken a killer hippo on the latest Prime Video chart. The undead now hold the top movie spot in the United States, and a swamp-set creature feature that dominated the streaming service has dropped to second among films.
Prime Video’s new Apocalypse Z sequel just took down Hungry for top spot
Apocalypse Z: New World is currently ranked No. 3 on Prime Video’s Top 10 Overall in the United States on November 3, 2026, according to Flix Patrol. That made it the highest-ranked movie on the list.
Hungry followed at No. 4, the best showing among films after the zombie sequel. Only The Terminal List and Carrie placed higher overall. Ali G: Who Iz I? came in fifth, followed by Neagley, Forget Me Never, Love of Your Life, Reacher, and Drive – The Pretenders.
Apocalypse Z: New World reached Prime Video on October 30, 2026. Amazon is streaming it exclusively in more than 240 countries and territories. The film premiered at the Sitges Film Festival on October 10.
The Spanish movie continues the story of Apocalypse Z: The Beginning of the End. Director Carles Torrens follows a group of survivors on a mission from the Canary Islands to resupply the island refuge. The running time is about 98 minutes, and Ángel Agudo is credited with the screenplay.
On the other hand, Hungry had a strong run before the zombies came. The low-budget horror film was the biggest streaming hit on all of Prime Video on October 28. James Nunn directed the movie, which started streaming on Prime Video on October 1, after a digital release in June.
The synopsis follows holidaymakers who get lost in the Louisiana swamplands and must fight for their lives against a rampaging hippo. It has been described as a wildly unofficial adaptation of the Hungry Hungry Hippos board game.
The two horror films now sit back to back on Prime Video’s daily list. Hungry spent weeks building its audience, while the zombie sequel climbed to the top within days of its October 30 premiere. Both are available to stream with a Prime Video subscription.
