Sydney Sweeney’s TV-MA-rated series returned after a four-year hiatus and has almost immediately climbed to the top of global streaming charts. Starring alongside Emmy-winner and executive producer Zendaya, the show continues to build on the legacy of its first two seasons.
Sydney Sweeney’s Euphoria Season 3 leads HBO Max’s streaming chart
According to Flix Patrol’s April 15 report, Sydney Sweeney’s Euphoria Season 3 is currently the #1 series on HBO Max. With this, it has taken over Noah Wyle’s medical drama The Pitt, which ranks #2 on the Top 10 list. The list also includes the Steve Carell-starrer Rooster at #3, and Jason Bateman’s DTF St. Louis at #4.
Furthermore, Euphoria is the “Top TV Show” in over 50 countries. Despite the premiere episode, titled “Ándale,” being the lowest-rated episode on IMDb, the show has maintained a steady viewership since debuting earlier this week on April 12, 2026.
Euphoria Season 3 aligns itself with the four-year break, and the events in the season take place five years after Season 2. Rue is now working as a drug mule for Laurie, to whom she owes a significant amount of money.
Meanwhile, Jules is a sugar baby, Lexi works as a production assistant at Warner Bros., Cassie is engaged to Nate and is pursuing a career as an erotic influencer, Maddy is a talent manager, and Nate is failing to run his father’s business. This is a stark contrast to previous seasons, in which the show followed these characters in a high school setting.
As with most of the show, showrunner Sam Levinson wrote and directed Euphoria Season 3. It features Sweeney as Cassie, Zendaya as Rue, Jacob Elordi as Nate, Hunter Schafer as Jules, Maude Apatow as Lexi, Alexa Demie as Maddy, Colman Domingo as Ali, Eric Dane as Cal, and Martha Kelly as Laurie, among others.
Interestingly, the HBO Max series is not the only thing that’s working in the Immaculate star’s favor. Her sports drama film, Christy, is also leading the charts on the platform, ranked #1.
