Beloved Star Wars Series Renewed for Season 4 – Report

A critically acclaimed animated entry in the Star Wars franchise is reportedly heading back into production. According to a new report from industry insider Daniel Richtman, Lucasfilm is quietly moving forward with another season of its beloved anime anthology series.

If confirmed, this will be a major milestone for the show, making it one of the few animated Star Wars properties to survive past the three-season mark in the modern Disney+ era.

Star Wars: Visions Season 4 rumored to be renewed

The news comes on the heels of a massively successful Season 3 for Star Wars: Visions, which debuted on Disney+ in October and scored a highly rated 98% on Rotten Tomatoes. Richtman’s report suggests that Lucasfilm sees long-term value in the anthology format, with plans extending for a Season 4. The insider also notes that “additional spin-offs” are in the pipeline, likely tied to the newly launched Star Wars: Visions Presents banner.

Disney announced the Visions Presents label in 2025 as a home for expanded projects originating from the popular anime shorts. The first confirmed spin-off is a full series based on Production IG’s fan-favorite episode, “The Ninth Jedi,” which is currently targeting a 2026 release. This move suggests that future spin-offs could resurrect other beloved stories from the show’s extensive library.

Star Wars: Visions first hit screens in 2021 as a unique experiment, tasking animation studios from around the globe with creating non-canon, standalone stories. The format proved to be a creative goldmine, featuring distinct visual styles from heavyweights like Studio Trigger, Aardman, and Studio Mir. Season 1 and the recent Volume 3 focused heavily on Japanese anime aesthetics, while Volume 2 broadened the scope to include studios from France, India, and Chile.

With an official announcement from Disney still pending, speculation is already building around what direction Star Wars: Visions Season 4 might take. Additionally, if the renewal holds true, Star Wars: Visions will stand alone as a rare outlier in the current Lucasfilm slate.
