Daddy Issues Season 3 to be the last one on BBC
Daddy Issues will officially conclude with its upcoming third season, bringing the BBC comedy’s story to an end after three seasons.
According to Deadline, Aimee Lou Wood and David Morrissey are returning for one final six-episode season, which will serve as the conclusion to the acclaimed comedy. The series has enjoyed a strong run since its debut, becoming BBC Three’s most successful comedy launch since the start of 2022.
The final chapter moves the story forward by 18 months. Gemma has settled into life as a working mother, earning a promotion at the salon while raising her young daughter Sadie, who has now started nursery. Malcolm has also found greater stability in his own life, giving the father-daughter duo a routine.
With her personal and professional life finally on track, Gemma begins to consider whether she is ready to pursue a relationship again. However, her search for love takes an unexpected turn when a romantic encounter creates a new wave of complications. As events spiral beyond her control, Gemma once again depends on Malcolm. Lou Wood stars as Gemma, while Morrissey plays her father, Malcolm.
Wood expressed her excitement about returning for the final season, saying, “I’m so happy to be back with David and the brilliant Daddy Issues cast for one final time. Gemma and Malcolm are one of the funniest and sweetest comedy double acts on TV, and I’ve loved being a part of it.”
Daddy Issues is produced by Fudge Park Productions, with George Kane directing and Andrew Harvey serving as producer. Executive producers include Danielle Ward, Phil Gilbert, Damon Beesley, Lou Wood, and Morrissey.
