Amy Schumer Is Finally ‘Growing’ on Us With Her New Netflix Special
It wasn’t too long ago that Amy Schumer was crowned as the new Queen of Comedy. Audiences loved her ‘tell it like it is’ humor that wasn’t afraid to go there. But honestly, we weren’t huge Schumer fans until now, as this stand-up special is, well, special. It’s got fewer jokes about taking loads and more about carrying one.
After several Hollywood movies (the hit Trainwreck and misses Snatched and I Feel Pretty), the comedian has returned to her old stomping grounds with her new Netflix special Amy Schumer: Growing. Taped while Schumer was five months pregnant, the comedian gets down and dirty with pregnancy details and offers a “TMI” take on her own personal growth, which included getting married to chef Chris Fischer.
Schumer’s return to the comedy stage follows a long line of comedians who’re going back to their stand-up roots for Netflix, who’re obviously paying them big bucks to do so. Here’s a rundown of the Netflix Comedy Specials you should watch, too.
