Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt made her first fashion statement by appearing on the cover of People in a $42 t-shirt sold by Belly, a boutique in Denver, who sent the shirt along with other maternity clothes, to Jolie in January. The shirt, which says “The Pots & Pans Band” in Gothic letters and features a skull and crossbones, has now completely sold out after the boutique was flooded with phone and Internet orders. Co-owner Janci Frisby says the shop also sent clothes to Gwyneth Paltrow, Jennifer Garner and Gwen Stefani but has yet to receive a response. Belly employee Janci Clawson says:
Obviously, if she wore something of ours, that would be awesome. But it was more of a ‘thank you’ to Angelina for doing so much for women and children around the world.”
To recap, Shiloh is not yet three weeks old but has managed to earn $4 million and start a fashion trend from one picture. I’m not good with numbers, but that’s probably more than my whole neighborhood and I will make or do in our lifetimes. The more I think about it, I guess “I wanna rock” wasn’t really the best answer to my guidance counselor’s question.
