Comic-Con 2017 | ‘The Walking Dead’ Season 8 Trailer

After the events of The Walking Dead season 7, peace is no longer an option. Now, Rick Grimes and his allies in the new world must unite for an all-out war against Negan and the Saviors!

At the annual Walking Dead panel at Comic-Con International, AMC and the cast of the series dropped the first trailer for the eighth season of the hit series. And this is a much longer trailer than usual, which starts out very slowly and builds towards some epic confrontations. Unfortunately for one of the survivors, he’s got an appointment with Negan himself!

The trailer also features Rick’s “Independence Day” moment, as he makes an impassioned speech to his friends and allies that the new world belongs to them…if they can survive the war against the Saviors. Unfortunately for them, Negan still has allies of his own and an army of followers who outnumber almost everyone else’s forces combined. Not everyone is going to make it out of this one alive. And then there is the enigmatic clip at the end of the trailer. Potential spoilers are ahead:

This appears to be an aged version of Rick, who needs a cane to walk around now. If we had to guess, this is probably a flash forward to late in the season, after the war with Negan. In the comics, there was a time jump after the war with the Saviors. It appears that the show will take a similar approach.
