Lorde Announces International Tour

Lorde is launching a new tour.

The New Zealand-born songstress is embarking on an international tour, the Melodrama Tour, which will see her hitting places in her home country as well as Australia and numerous stops in Europe. The tour kicks off on September 26th in Manchester in support of her new album, which is set to be released in just a few days.

She wrote on Twitter about her impending album and its latest single “Sober”: “so the first inklings of sober came to me in the back of an uber, and then properly at jack and lena’s kitchen table. i BOLTED to the studio & i think we expressed the emotions so purely- it’s leaning & drawling, juvenile & triumphant – impressing someone then embarrassing urself but this song was so important to me because it felt like pop music i hadn’t heard before, this sprawling brass & strange vocal syncopation.”

Lorde also announced on her Twitter account that musician Khalid will be joining her on the Melodrama Tour.

Meanwhile, Lorde will be performing at the Osheaga music festival in Montreal this summer (before the tour starts). Her next live performance is set for this Sunday, June 18th at the iHeartRadio MMVAs.
