Superman’s Gonna Have a ‘Miserable, Rotten, No Fun, Really Bad Day’

Almost everyone who loves comics has dreamed about being Superman. But do you think that Superman dreams about being himself? Or would he rather live in a world without the weight of his powers on his shoulders?

This fall, MAD Magazine is releasing a new book that puts the Man of Steel in the unfamiliar position of having the worst day ever. Writer Dave Croatto and artist Tom Richmond are collaborating on Superman and the Miserable, Rotten, No Fun, Really Bad Day; an obvious parody of the children’s classic Alexander, and the Terrible, Horrible No Good, Really Bad Day. Croatto and Richmond previously collaborated on the Goodnight Batcave parody book that MAD released last year.

Although the cover claims that the parody is unauthorized, that’s simply part of the joke. MAD and DC Comics are both owned by Warner Brothers. Mashable broke this story earlier today, and posted a few preview pages that found Clark Kent’s alter ego dismayed at his ruined clothing and disappointed that Wonder Woman won’t give him a ride in the Invisible Jet.

Superman and the Miserable, Rotten, No Fun, Really Bad Day will be released in October 2017.
