Watch The First Trailer For ‘Teen Titans: The Judas Contract’

In the ’80s, Marv Wolfman and George Pérez transformed the Teen Titans from a group of sidekick characters into their own fully formed superhero team. One of the key storylines was “The Judas Contract,” which played out with a traitor on the team and even featured the debut of Robin’s second superhero identity: Nightwing.

Because of certain controversial aspects of “The Judas Contract,” a previous attempt to adapt the movie as an animated DTV film fell through. But later this year, Teen Titans: The Judas Contract is finally coming to DVD and Blu-Ray. For this adaptation, there have been a number of changes. For starters, this is taking place in the New 52 inspired DC films, so Robin (Damian Wayne) and Blue Beetle are members of the Titans despite not being around for the original storyline. The new movie also features Christina Ricci as Terra and Miguel Ferrer as the voice of Deathstroke the Terminator.

Warner Bros. Home Entertainment has released the first trailer for Teen Titans: The Judas Contract, which reveals Brother Blood as the villain behind Deathstroke and offers a taste of what to expect from the film.

For the most part, it looks promising. But that closing scene with Robin smelling his costume for BO was pretty f***ing stupid. Remember, these movies don’t tend to run more than 72 to 74 minutes. So of course, the film wasted a few precious seconds of screen time on a gag that wasn’t funny at all. That’s not a very good sign.
