First Look | ‘James Bond: Felix Leiter’ # 1

James Bond seems to attract the spotlight in any story that he appears in. But this week, Dynamite Entertainment is giving one of Bond’s oldest allies his first ever solo story. However, Felix Leiter may soon wish that he had 007 backing him up!

Writer James Robinson and artist Aaron Campbell are the creative team of the new James Bond: Felix Leiter miniseries, which brings Felix to Japan in order to provide a favor for someone else in the espionage trade.

Dynamite Entertainment has passed along a few of Campbell’s pages from the first issue, as well as the covers by Mike Perkins and Gabriel Hardman. And as  you can see in the preview below, it’s quite likely that Felix has already found trouble in Japan as he grabs a quick drink and reflects on a woman. It never pays to keep a spy waiting, and in this case, it could be deadly…

Here’s Dynamite Entertainment’s solicitation text for the issue.

From superstar creative team James Robinson (Starman, Red Sonja) and Aaron Campbell (The Shadow, Uncanny) comes the Bond spin-off highlighting 007’s American counterpart! Felix Leiter finds himself in Japan, tracking down a beautiful, Russian spy from his past. But when the mission takes a turn for the worse, he will discover that there are more deadly schemes afoot in Tokyo and beyond!

James Bond: Felix Leiter # 1 will be released on Wednesday, January 11 in comic stores everywhere.
