Exclusive Preview | ‘Berlin Station’ Episode 3

The hunt for Thomas Shaw is on, in the Epix original series Berlin Station. And while CIA operative Daniel Miller (Richard Armitage) has found a lead to the high profile whistleblower, he doesn’t realize that the man he’s looking for is his friend, Hector DeJean (Rhys Ifans). Hector may not be willing to kill to protect the secrets of “Thomas Shaw,” but there’s at least one person who will. Miller’s already leaked a phot of Hector’s accomplice to German inteligence, and his investigation will likely circle back to Hector eventually. Until then, Miller’s life is quite literally in Hector’s hands.

Meanwhile, section chief Steven Frost (Richard Jenkins) has his own problems. His office is running scared because of the Shaw leaks, and Frost is busy trying to handle the fallout of his affair with his secretary, and attempting to deal with his overly ambitious administrator, Valerie Edwards (Michelle Forbes). It doesn’t help that Valerie is undermining him and seemingly gunning for his job.

All of that presure leads to this week’s exclusive preview scene from the third episode of Berlin Station, as the weight of the world comes down on Frost in the form of water. Lots of water.

What brought on that nightmare? Berlin Station executive producer Brad Winters told us “There’s a leak in Berlin Station, and the dream sequence flags a leak in the subconscious of its Chief, Steven Frost. What is Frost afraid of? What is he hiding? Is he at risk of becoming Thomas Shaw’s next victim? Come take the plunge with Steven Frost to find out just how political the personal is and vice-versa. The dream sequence and its resolution at the end of the episode set the stage for the coming tour de force by Richard Jenkins.”

EPIX has also released a video about the making of this episode’s signature underwater sequence, which includes Jenkins sharing the story of how he was roped into shooting it.

Here’s the description of this week’s episode from Epix:

“Frost and Robert worry that their incriminating secrets will be unearthed when Langley investigators sweep Berlin Station to ferret out fodder for future Shaw leaks. Meanwhile, Daniel’s Shaw hunt becomes compromised when Hector bugs his phone, and the station’s surveillance of Aleksandre Iosava turns up bad behavior by one of Valerie’s agents.”

The third episode of Berlin Station will debut this Sunday, October 30 at 9pm, only on Epix!
