Rangers Pitcher Makes Unreal Behind-The-Back Catch

Nick Martinez is just another pitcher you’ve probably never heard of. But he made a play for the ages Tuesday night against the Angels.

Angels shortstop Andrelton Simmons hits a rocket just behind Martinez’s back, but the pitcher reacts instantaneously to make a miraculous fifth inning play. 

Even Martinez is in disbelief. Not only does Simmons stop dead in his tracks, Angels manager Mike Scioscia had a dead-pan reaction for the ages as well.

It’s possibly the best MLB play of the year.
