Exclusive Preview | ‘Hell on Wheels’ Series Finale

After five seasons, Hell on Wheels has come to the end of the line. The first transcontinental railroad has been built, but everyone made it to the conclusion.

Last week, Cullen Bohannon’s workers on the Central Pacific railroad raced to beat Thomas Durant’s Union Pacific railroad…and it wasn’t close! Thanks to some last minute defections, the Central Pacific reached the finish line and went beyond! And yet Durant still managed to weasel his way to a favorable deal that negated much of that hard work. Durant lost, but it didn’t stop him from declaring victory yet again.

Now it’s time to settle the accounts. In CraveOnline’s exclusive preview scene from the series finale of Hell on Wheels, Durant breaks his partnership with Mickey on the eve of an indictment. Their bond runs deep, even if they weren’t close. As Mickey says, they’ve buried bodies together. And the Union Pacific wouldn’t have continued without his efforts. Unfortunately for Mickey, he’s about to learn a harsh lesson about how far loyalty will take him.

The series finale will also disclose the fate of Cullen, and what happens next. Here’s AMC’s description for this week’s final episode:

“In the series finale entitled, “Done,” the golden spike, government hearings, and unpredictable actions mean new beginnings and endings for the survivors of Hell on Wheels.”

The series finale of Hell on Wheels will air this Saturday, July 23 on AMC.
