Rhys Darby & Anna Farris Star In Hollywood-Inspired Air New Zealand Safety Video

Rhys Darby seems to be the mad genius behind the latest air safety video from Air New Zealand, and he’s brought fellow beloved kook Anna Farris along for the ride. Allowing for some subconscious, perhaps Freudian undertones of sub-context, the clip doesn’t make a whole lot of sense but dammit, you’ll laugh.

Air New Zealand’s latest safety video (below) sees Darby coax Farris into appearing in the clip, but he’s actually hell bent on using the work as a vehicle to score an award. In the pair’s attempt, they try their hand at various themes such as 70’s cop movie, Euro-mance, horror and Western but alas, unless there’s an acting award for trying real hard…

Before Darby and Farris get too carried away, Air New Zealand is there (literally) to rein them back to the message of the video – air safety. All the usually suspects are there – the seat-belt procedure, emergency landing etiquette, the ethics of smoking on board and the like.

Air New Zealand and Darby are a match made in heaven, it’s hard to believe they didn’t get onto this before. You can watch the company’s previous brainchild, a Men In Black’ themed safety video, here.

Check out the new one below as it’s fairly long, you’ll most likely not make it to the end on your flight once you pop your Xanny.

It’s also good to see that Darby is keeping in good form, considering he’ll soon be leading the charge on the upcoming Australian version of Whose Line Is It Anyway?.
