Exclusive Preview | ‘Hell on Wheels’ Season 5 Episode 13

For five years, AMC’s Hell on Wheels has depicted the creation of the first transcontinental railroad. There’s been a lot of blood spilled along the way, but the end is in sight with only two episodes remaining.

Perhaps no one on this show has spilled more blood than Anson Mount’s Cullen Bohannon, but he’s done his share of bleeding as well. Last week, Cullen finally dealt with Chang when Cullen’s lover, Mei was threatened. He actually had to kill several people, and for what? Mei is alive, but Cullen is once again alone. Now he has nothing left but to complete the grand vision that wasn’t even his to begin with.

In CraveOnline’s exclusive preview from this week’s Hell on Wheels, the rivalry between Thomas Durant’s Union Pacific Railroad and Collis Huntington’s Central Pacific Railroad heats up as the rival crews race to finish the tracks within miles of each other. Under Cullen’s guidance, the Central Pacific line is moving like a well-oiled machine. But for Durant, that’s just an excuse to do whatever it takes to win the golden spike, even if it costs other people their lives.

Here’s AMC’s description for this week’s penultimate episode:

“The race to finish the railroad comes down to inches, forcing all parties to contemplate the end of the line, and what the future holds for them.”

The next episode of Hell on Wheels will air this Saturday, July 16 on AMC.
