Preview: Taran Killam’s “The Illegitimates #1”

You ever think about how often James Bond slept around, and how many women he must’ve knocked up? Well, Saturday Night Live star Taran Killam sure has, and he’s created a new IDW series about it as his first foray into comics. Well, sort of. His is about Jack Steele, Man-Slut Agent of OLYMPUS, who meets his match in the villainous Viktor Dannikor, and when the call goes out to find his replacement, they call in five rookies who don’t even know the common thread they share – that they’re Bastards of Steele.

Check out this preview of The Illegitimates #1, due out tomorrow from Killam, who co-wrote with Marc Andreyko, with art from Kevin Sharpe.

As far as reviews go, he believes the main point of being a critic is not to pass yourself off as the final arbiter of quality passing holy judgment on a work of art, but rather just to share opinions so that the reader can decide whether or not the critic is someone whose tastes generally align with theirs.  If so, that reviewer is one whose work you can trust if you're curious about a particular title.  If not, cue loud, angry internet vitriol.
