Jessie J’s Smallest Win After Cancer Battle Brings Her Biggest Joy

Jessie J is celebrating a personal milestone after a challenging year. The singer has shared several updates about her recovery following breast cancer surgery. Now, one everyday experience has brought her an especially emotional moment.

Jessie J celebrates wearing a normal bra after breast cancer surgery

On Thursday, November 5, Jessie shared the news through her Instagram stories. She revealed that she had finally worn a regular bra again. The moment marked a significant step in her cancer recovery.

“Today is the first day I am wearing a normal bra with no padding in one side and no recovery support since June 21st 2025,” she wrote. The singer added, “I am crying tears of joy.” She then celebrated, “I f—— did it!”

Jessie paired the message with Destiny’s Child’s empowering song “Survivor.” The choice reflected her journey through treatment and subsequent procedures. For her, the milestone represented progress beyond the operating room.

The singer was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2025. She underwent a mastectomy to remove the cancer. By June, she announced that her “cancer [was] all gone.”

However, her recovery continued beyond the initial surgery. On August 8, Jessie revealed she needed another operation. She said she remained in the “thick” of recovery seven weeks after her mastectomy.

Jessie also spoke openly about balancing motherhood, music, and her health. In an earlier Instagram post, she explained her approach. “I can rest, parent AND release new music,” she wrote.

She also discussed changing expectations after leaving her major label. “I didn’t leave a major label after 18 years to be scared to rewrite the rules to fit around my life/health,” she explained. Jessie acknowledged that her plans needed to remain realistic.

“Another surgery [is] needed this year,” she added. She finished that update with a determined declaration: “I can do it.” The singer later underwent another reconstruction surgery.

On October 25, Jessie shared photographs following the procedure. One showed her wearing a hospital gown and giving a thumbs-up. She captioned the image, “To healing.”

Another photograph showed Jessie resting in a hospital bed. She also shared affectionate pictures featuring her three-year-old son, Sky. Calling him “the best (and tallest) 3-year-old,” she celebrated their time together.

Her latest emotional milestone offers another glimpse into that ongoing journey. Wearing a normal bra might seem ordinary to others. For Jessie, it represents how far she has come.
