Sarah Ferguson has decided to make a public comeback after being away for several months. However, this decision has allegedly left Prince William and King Charles concerned. They are wary of renewed attention on the royal scandal.
King Charles and Prince William ‘shocked’ by Sarah Ferguson breaking cover, per source
According to Now To Love, Sarah Ferguson attended the memorial service of former partner Paddy McNally, who died at 88. The 67-year-old was accompanied by her daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie. She appeared in public after several months away and paid her respects to the motor-racing figure.
“Sarah went back and forth over whether she was going to attend Paddy’s memorial service,” an insider said. “Of course she was nervous, but she decided to face her fears and get back out there and she’s so relieved that she did.”
The source revealed that Princess Beatrice and Eugenie provided “moral support” to their mother as she took the big step. However, Ferguson soon felt comfortable with the guests. “She was schmoozing with everyone like old times, even Peter Phillips,” they said. “And she’s now saying this is just the start, she’s ready to get back to the life she’s always known, she’s done hiding.”
The report claimed that King Charles and Prince William were “quite shocked” at Ferguson’s public appearance. “They want distance from the scandal, and that’s just not going to happen if Sarah starts popping up at every society event,” the source claimed.
A separate insider described Ferguson’s current approach as “reset mode”. Ferguson may be looking to keep a low profile while reconnecting with the family. “She plans on staying in the low-key family lane for the next six months or so, hopefully the odd casual appearance with Beatrice and Eugenie, while building on her grandma credentials.”
The former Duchess of York had retreated from public life following allegations involving her and her ex-husband, ex-Prince Andrew’s association with Jeffrey Epstein. The charges against Andrew included sexual assault and rape, and a longtime association with the sex offender. Meanwhile, Ferguson had faced scrutiny over emails that gave Epstein access to her contacts. She also mentioned that Epstein was a close friend.
