Justin Timberlake’s reported docuseries may revisit Britney Spears and Janet Jackson
According to Variety, Timberlake is set to be featured in a four-part docuseries. Three sources told the outlet that the project is being described as a “tell-all.” Directed by Fisher Stevens, the series may also explore several controversial episodes from Timberlake’s personal and professional life.
One source told Variety that the series will feature Janet Jackson discussing the infamous 2004 Super Bowl Halftime Show. During the show, her breast was briefly exposed during the performance. Another source said the project may feature Timberlake addressing comments Britney Spears has made recently.
Timberlake dated Spears from 1999 to 2002. Their highly publicized breakup attracted significant media attention as Timberlake’s solo career took off. The reported docuseries could revisit that period and the public scrutiny surrounding their relationship.
Timberlake has a previous relationship with Apple TV+, having starred in the platform’s original film Palmer in 2021. The reported docuseries comes during a quieter period in the singer’s career. Timberlake released his most recent album, Everything I Thought It Was, in 2024 and wrapped his Forget Tomorrow World Tour in July 2025.
The project has not been officially announced by Apple TV+ or Timberlake. Further details about its release date and content remain unclear.
Timberlake also faced legal scrutiny in 2024 when he was arrested in Sag Harbor, New York, on a charge of driving while intoxicated. He later pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of driving while ability impaired.
