Ryan Phillippe Unloads 18 Grievances in Bizarre Instagram Post

Ryan Phillippe is setting some personal boundaries as he looks ahead to the coming year. The actor shared a list on Instagram detailing habits, topics, and other things he plans to leave behind. His list ranges from everyday distractions to broader frustrations and personal boundaries, while Phillippe made clear that the choices are his own.

Ryan Phillippe takes aim at politics, podcasts and fake people

Phillippe shared the list on November 1 in a Notes app screenshot on Instagram, saying he wanted to get an early start on his resolutions. It contains 18 things he plans to stop giving his time or attention to in the months ahead. The entries include “Halloween,” “fantasy football,” “politics,” “doomsday scenarios,” and “doom scrolling.” He also listed “the majority of podcasts” and “talking heads.”

The actor also listed people and feelings he wants to leave behind. His entries include “fake love,” “grudges,” “being used,” “being judged,” and “liars and ever being one again myself.” He added “insincere obligations” and “wasting precious time” to the list. Another entry reads, “Anything processed: foods or people,” bringing both food and relationships into his list of things he wants to avoid.

Phillippe explained why he shared the list in the caption. “Putting this on main to keep me accountable,” he wrote. He stressed that he was not telling anyone else what to do, adding, “It’s MY list, not imposing it on anyone.” He then invited followers to “Post yours and tag me,” before signing off with “Resolution Revolution.”

Professional sports also made the list, although Phillippe made one exception. He wrote that he plans to avoid professional sports “except the Sixers.” He cited endorsements from “corrosive gambling sites and apps” and what he described as “rampant injuries.” As reported by OK! Magazine, he specifically called out the NFL, adding another reason for his decision to step away from following professional sports.

For Phillippe, the list appears to be less about telling others what to change and more about setting his own priorities. By sharing it publicly, he is also giving himself a way to stay accountable to the resolutions he has chosen for himself.
