Kyle Cooke and Amanda Batula are reportedly going through a rough patch in their friendship following their separation. The former Summer House stars initially appeared to be on good terms after their split.
Sources say Kyle and Amanda have taken steps backward since separating
Nearly a year after their split, the estranged spouses are reportedly experiencing another difficult period. “Kyle and Amanda were doing well as far as a friendship, but have been going through a rough patch,” a source told Us Weekly.
“They have taken a few steps back and their communication hasn’t been great,” the source continued. The pair announced their separation in January 2026 after four years of marriage. At the time, they described their decision as mutual and amicable.
“After much reflection, we have mutually and amicably decided to part ways as a couple,” they shared. They also requested “grace and support” as they focused on personal growth and healing. However, their circumstances have since become more complicated.
Amanda confirmed a new relationship with West Wilson in March. West previously dated Ciara Miller, Amanda’s former best friend and Summer House costar. The romance sparked controversy during the Summer House Season 10 reunion.
Another insider claimed that discussions about West have heightened tensions between Kyle and Amanda. “[Kyle and Amanda’s dynamic] has been tense and is heightened when West gets brought up,” the source shared. Both reportedly hope their divorce will be finalized soon.
Amanda has also stepped away from another reality television opportunity. She reportedly decided against returning for season two of In the City. An insider told Us Weekly that the In the City cast refused to film with West, prompting Amanda to decline the opportunity to return.
The insider said Amanda wanted a break from public scrutiny. “Amanda truly wanted a break, and wanted a break from the world having insight into her life and dissecting her relationship,” they explained. The insider described West as an important source of emotional support for Amanda.
Kyle also addressed his recent outburst on social media. He acknowledged that his emotions had influenced his public remarks. “Despite our differences, I will always care about Amanda,” he wrote.
He also acknowledged Amanda’s right to make her own decisions. Despite their ongoing tensions, both reportedly hope to finalize their divorce soon.
