Donald Trump Calls Nicki Minaj White House Job Suggestion a ‘Good Idea’

Nicki Minaj was once openly critical of Donald Trump, but their relationship appears to have improved significantly over the past few months. Now, another development has made headlines, with the president calling the suggestion of giving Minaj a job at the White House a “good idea.”

Donald Trump addresses the suggestion of Nicki Minaj becoming White House press secretary

On Friday, October 30, the president appeared on The Benny Show, where the host asked whether Nicki Minaj could fill the role following Katie Zacharia’s exit. Trump addressed the suggestion of the Trinidadian rapper becoming the White House press secretary.

Trump said, “That’s a good idea. I think I’ll have to think about that. I’m going to think about that. How about you? You’d be pretty good, too.”

As we know, Katie Zacharia was fired from her position as White House press secretary on October 16, 2026. The main reasons behind her dismissal reportedly included a disastrous start in the role, alleged lies about her legal qualifications, and a major public backlash over her performance in the media.

It remains unclear whether the 43-year-old rapper will take over the position. However, President Trump and Nicki Minaj appear to have grown much closer in recent months. We have recently seen Minaj join him at White House events, deliver a speech at the United Nations, and travel aboard his official plane, Air Force One, to campaign rallies, including the one in Michigan.

Donald Trump has also publicly praised Minaj’s intelligence and appearance. However, some of his personal remarks about her body during the Michigan rally also drew media attention. 47th president later said he hoped she hadn’t taken offense.

For context, Barbie World fame criticized the president’s immigration policies during his first term in office. However, during his second term, the two have developed a much closer political and personal alliance.
