Janelle Brown, who rose to fame on TLC’s reality series Sister Wives, has recently opened up about her dating life. In a new interview, the reality TV star revealed how her boyfriend, Pete, differs from her former spiritual husband, Kody Brown.

After the premiere of Sister Wives Season 21, the TV star spoke exclusively with People, opening up about her personal life and new relationship. During the conversation, Janelle Brown compared her boyfriend Pete’s attentiveness to what she experienced during her marriage to Kody Brown.
Janelle said, “He doesn’t have a huge ego. He’s not high maintenance. He loves me so much, and I feel cherished as well as loved. And he wants to take care of me. He’s old-fashioned. He’s always opening up the door for me, and he’s always like, “I don’t want you to drive that far.” I’m like, “I’m fine, honey. I actually lived a pretty independent life for a lot of years. I’m good.” But he supports me. It’s amazing. My kids have met him now and they love him.”
During the same interview, the TV personality also addressed how she met her boyfriend, Pete. She revealed that they met on a blind date and admitted that she never expected things to turn out this way.
“So I did not actually talk to Pete before we met for dinner. I didn’t even know what he looked like. I had no idea. It was truly a blind date,” she said.
For context, Janelle entered a spiritual plural marriage with Kody Brown in January 1993, becoming his second wife. During their nearly 30-year relationship, they welcomed six children: Logan, Madison, Hunter, Garrison, Gabriel, and Savanah.
The reality star announced her separation from Kody during the Sister Wives: One on One special in December 2022. Nearly four years later, Janelle introduced Pete to fans in August 2026. The two are currently dating.
