Savannah Chrisley’s Fiancé Has a $7.2M Tax Problem That Won’t Go Away

Savannah Chrisley‘s husband, Jason Galanis, reportedly still owes approximately $7.2 million in unpaid taxes, along with a separate civil judgment worth over $17 million. These financial liabilities remain unresolved despite his early release from prison following a presidential commutation from Donald Trump in 2025. The issue has come into focus after Savannah announced that she is expecting her first child with Jason in March 2027.

Jason Galanis’ unpaid liens date back years

The Sun reported that, according to records confirmed by the Los Angeles tax clerk, Jason has had outstanding tax liens in California since 2013. These include a $5,407,756 federal lien filed in 2013, a $2,878 lien from 2014, and state and federal liens worth $599,394 and $779,377, respectively, filed in 2017. He also has an unpaid state tax lien of $377,320 from 2022. Together, these outstanding amounts total approximately $7.2 million. Jason paid off another federal lien worth $1,656,865 in 2019.

His financial obligations also include a $17,288,721 civil judgment issued in October 2020. The judgment followed a lawsuit filed by Wimbledon Financing Master Fund against Jason and several other defendants.

Although Trump granted Jason clemency in 2025, the commutation did not clear his separate tax liabilities or civil judgment. Jason received a sentence of more than 15 years in prison in 2020 “for his participation in multiple fraudulent schemes,” according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York. He later secured an early release after Trump commuted his sentence in March 2025.

Savannah said on her podcast, Unlocked with Savannah Chrisley, that she met Jason through political connections. The couple kept their relationship private for about a year before announcing their pregnancy. Marriage records revealed that they secretly married in July 2026. They expect to welcome their child in March 2027 and reportedly plan a larger wedding celebration two months later.

The news comes after Savannah’s parents, Todd and Julie Chrisley, also received clemency from Trump in May 2025. The reality TV couple had been convicted of defrauding banks of $30 million and sentenced in November 2022. Both have since been released from prison.
