Dwayne Johnson Appears to Like Video Calling Taylor Swift a ‘Fake’

Taylor Swift has a massive fan base, but she is also no stranger to criticism. However, fans were surprised when Dwayne Johnson, aka The Rock, appeared to join her critics. According to recent reports, the actor’s verified Instagram account seemingly liked a video calling Swift a “fake.”

How fans discovered the apparent like on the Taylor Swift video

According to BuzzFeed, a report published on October 26 revealed that the like was still visible from Dwayne Johnson’s verified Instagram account at the time of publication. Screenshots of the interaction had already circulated on X, leaving fans questioning why the actor appeared to support the criticism. However, the screenshots did not confirm whether Johnson personally liked the Reel or intended to endorse its claims.

The Instagram Reel criticized Swift’s singing, songwriting, and dancing abilities, describing her as “Not a good singer.” It also questioned her talent, calling her a “carefully crafted fake.”

Neither Johnson nor his representatives have publicly explained the interaction. However, fans found the apparent like surprising because the WWE superstar has openly praised Swift on several occasions. The two have also shared friendly interactions over the years.

During a 2024 interview, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson praised Swift, calling her “the biggest star in the world.” He also voiced the male character at the end of her 2020 music video for “The Man.” Following its release, he congratulated the singer on X and praised the video’s message about women’s equality.

Their friendly history extends beyond these moments. Johnson previously revealed that he personally reached out to Swift for help securing tickets to her Eras Tour for a close friend. The 36-year-old singer quickly arranged the tickets for him.

Given their history, the apparent Instagram interaction caught fans off guard. However, without an explanation from Johnson, it remains unclear whether the like was intentional or reflected his personal opinion of Swift.
