Tom Jones has been forced to change his touring schedule after falling ill. The 86-year-old singer postponed two California performances after coming down with a bad case of the flu. The Tom Jones concert changes affect shows in Los Angeles and San Diego. However, fans will not have to wait long, as Jones has already announced replacement dates for both performances.
Tom Jones reschedules concert after getting hit with the flu
According to PEOPLE, Jones announced the postponements on Oct. 26 after recently completing 20 shows across the United States. He said the illness arrived unexpectedly following several busy weeks on the road.
“I’ve had a great time these last few weeks,” Jones wrote. However, he added that he had been “hit with a bad case of the flu.”
His doctor advised him to postpone the remaining California performances. The San Diego concert at The Rady Shell at Jacobs Park will now take place on Nov. 3. Jones moved his Los Angeles show at The Greek Theatre to Nov. 4.
“I’m truly sorry for any inconvenience caused,” the singer told fans. He added that he looked forward to seeing them soon.
Tickets purchased for the original dates will remain valid. Fans who cannot attend the replacement shows can request full refunds through their original point of purchase. The latest setback is not the first time Tom Jones has been sick while touring. In July 2025, he postponed a show in Bremen, Germany, after doctors diagnosed him with an upper respiratory infection. He later returned to the stage.
Jones has otherwise maintained a busy schedule despite being in his 80s. His recent touring activity became part of the discussion around his departure from The Voice UK. Jones said ITV cited insurance-related financial difficulties when removing him from his coaching role.
The decision even led to an unexpected offer when a Cardiff shopping center invited Jones to voice its announcements. For now, though, Jones’ focus is on recovering from the flu. If everything goes as planned, he will return to the stage in San Diego next week.
