The Dance Moms alums Abby Lee Miller and Cathy Nesbitt-Stein are revisiting their reality TV rivalry in a new series. The longtime dance rivals are appearing together again in Abby vs. Cathy: Hit the 8, where they will once again share the screen while judging a dance competition.

Abby Lee Miller and Cathy Nesbitt-Stein are reunited for a new show. In an exclusive joint interview with Page Six, the two discussed their new series and the long-running rivalry they developed on Dance Moms.
Nesbitt-Stein said, “We’re very good, [we] play with each other and we’re iconic in the way that we act towards each other.”
Miller replied, “And it’s real. When she says something hokey, I have to roll my eyes.”
Nesbitt-Stein quickly responded, insisting that she never said anything hokey.
Despite their playful teasing, the two said their relationship goes back to before their time on Dance Moms. Miller also pushed back on the idea that their dynamic was simply created for reality television.
“And I think that it’s not play and it’s not fake and it is not made up. It’s my natural reaction to things that she says or feelings that she has,” said Miller.
Miller described their relationship today by saying that they are, and have always been, colleagues.
Nesbitt-Stein added that the two had spent time together before they began filming Dance Moms. “She had been to dinner well before the other show. So we’re colleague-friends, colleague-frenemies, however you want to say that.”
The duo said the biggest “misconception” about their relationship is that they did not know each other before appearing on the show and genuinely hated each other.
While they acknowledged that their relationship deteriorated during Dance Moms, Nesbitt-Stein and Miller said they appreciate the opportunity to work together again.
Abby vs. Cathy: Hit the 8 is a short-form reality dance competition series premiering on October 27. Miller and Nesbitt-Stein will serve as judges on the show.
