Kylie Jenner’s $50 million Fantasy Bra moment at the October 18 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show has not gone down well with everyone. While fans argued that a longtime Angel deserved the honor, Adrianne Curry has now joined the criticism.
The former ANTM winner challenges Victoria’s Secret’s decision to feature Kylie Jenner
On October 19, she shared her thoughts during a YouTube livestream. The 44-year-old American’s Next Top Model winner said, “They have no standards anymore, and it’s a joke. Anyone can walk in it. They turn down famous Victoria’s Secret models who f**king look great to put a transgender person in there and a f**king Kardashian.”
She continued, “The Victoria’s Secret pre-2008 meant something. It meant that you were the cream of the crop. You were Naomi Campbell and Cindy Crawford in her prime. It’s like they just hire anyone to go up there now. There is nothing elite about it.” Curry further criticized the decision, arguing that Jenner does not have “a model’s body,” and expressed confusion over why she was chosen.
She said, “That’s for the belle of the ball. That is for the top Victoria’s Secret angel. That is like winning homecoming queen. And they just give it to Jenner? Like, get the f**k out of here. Victoria’s Secret is a joke.” She added, “In 2010, I would say Victoria’s Secret meant something. Now it’s meaningless.”
The model argued that Victoria’s Secret once created megastars but now relies on virtue signaling and other celebrities’ fame to promote itself. She also questioned the brand’s approach to casting, saying it was applauding Jenner instead of scouting fresh talent.
Designed in collaboration with Jacob & Co, the bra boasts 4,410 natural diamonds, including a 75.54-carat fancy vivid yellow diamond. According to Page Six, Victoria’s Secret has called the creation a “one-of-a-kind masterpiece.”
