‘Mormon Wives’ Star Jessi Draper Oversees Blood-Drinking Ritual at Sister’s Wedding

Jessi Draper took on an unusual role at her sister’s wedding. The Mormon Wives star officiated the ceremony and guided Kiera Draper Lewis and Payton Lewis through a symbolic blood-drinking ritual. The couple mixed drops of their blood in a silver goblet before taking turns drinking from it.

Kiera and Payton held their destination wedding in Tuscany, Italy on Aug. 26. Jessi had also officiated their legal ceremony earlier that month. The bride later shared footage of the celebration in an Instagram reel.

During the ceremony, Kiera and Payton pricked each other’s fingers and added a drop of blood to a silver goblet. They then drank from the same cup. According to People, Jessi described the act as a deep covenant between the couple.

She told them that blood represented their history, ancestry and essence, before instructing them to drink from the cup. The ceremony also included a hand-fasting ritual. That tradition involves binding a couple’s hands together as a symbol of unity.

Kiera has previously referred to Payton as her “vampire,” which fit the darker tone of the ceremony. The pair went public with their relationship in June 2024. They later announced their engagement in February 2026 after Payton proposed during a trip to Thailand.

Their legal wedding took place on Aug. 1. A few weeks later, they celebrated again in Italy.

Jessi has also been navigating major changes away from Mormon Wives. After finalizing her divorce from Jordan Ngatikaura, she hinted at “new beginnings” in her personal life.

The wedding put Jessi in a very different spotlight.

Instead of reality TV drama, she stood at the center of her sister’s ceremony and guided one of its most memorable traditions.
