According to the Daily Mail, Lopez appeared annoyed after staff asked her to lower her umbrella. Staff reportedly requested that guests lower their umbrellas as the show prepared to begin. Lopez initially decided to keep the umbrella raised despite the instruction.
A woman seated behind Lopez discreetly informed her about the umbrella request. Lopez reportedly mouthed “Oh” before continuing to hold her umbrella. Her longtime bodyguard later held it above her while she used her phone.
Seconds later, Lopez reportedly looked angry after staff again asked her to lower it. She eventually handed the large umbrella back to staff behind her. The umbrella incident reportedly left her sitting in the rain without cover.
Lopez also arrived to find her front-row seat wet. Her bodyguard reportedly dried the seat before she sat down. Her bodyguard later held her umbrella while she waited for the show.
The Paris Fashion Week event took place outdoors at Stella McCartney’s show. Lopez sat alongside British comedian and actress Diane Morgan. Stella McCartney’s husband, Alasdhair Willis, also sat nearby.
Lopez wore a brown ensemble for the fashion event. Her outfit included a chocolate-brown dress and a brown faux-fur scarf. She completed the look with pointed heels and a matching fur clutch.
As the rain continued, Lopez’s hair and outfit reportedly became wet. She appeared increasingly displeased during the show. A photo showed her seated in the rain after surrendering the umbrella.
The empty seat beside Lopez had reportedly been reserved for Anna Wintour. Wintour ultimately did not attend the event. Lopez instead sat beside Morgan and Willis throughout the presentation.
The unusual moment drew attention because of Lopez’s front-row position. Staff appeared focused on keeping umbrellas lowered during the outdoor show. Lopez ultimately followed the request and remained without her umbrella.
