Khloé Kardashian Took One Big Lesson From Dolly Parton

More than a year after her conversation with country music icon Dolly Parton, Khloé Kardashian reflected on the memorable encounter. The reality star said she loved how the late singer was “sort of like a caricature of herself.”

Khloé says Dolly Parton’s unapologetic approach to fame stuck with her

Speaking to People, Khloé revisited her July 2025 Khloé in Wonder Land conversation with the Queen of Country. The 42-year-old said, “She was angelic and majestic and positive.” She added, “I love the way that she was sort of like a caricature of herself. But she loved it and leaned into it and made no apologies for it.”

She said she can understand this perspective after years of living in the spotlight with her famous family. “She’s in on the joke, and I always think me and my family are also in on the joke. So I really relate to that type of mentality. I really respect that she just did what she loved to do, and it was harmless, and it was for her. And everyone respected it. That’s how we should all treat others, everyone,” she explained.

Talking about her podcast with the legend, Khloé said, “I think I was one of her last podcasts that she did. I flew to Tennessee. I got to be with her. I feel so blessed and fortunate that it happened. I can’t believe how lucky I am.”

Parton died at the age of 80 on Aug. 25, 2026. Her nephew, Bryan Seaver, announced her death in a video shared on her official Instagram account. Her representatives later confirmed that the country music legend died after a brief battle with cancer. Throughout her career, Parton wrote close to 3,000 songs, including beloved hits such as “Jolene” and “I Will Always Love You.” She sold more than 100 million records worldwide and amassed roughly 3 billion streams.
