Law Roach has shared what it is like to work with Kim Kardashian, his latest celebrity client. The stylist, who has worked with stars including Zendaya, Ariana Grande, and Céline Dion, recently discussed his approach to dressing the SKIMS founder and how their collaboration has been going so far.
Roach confirmed Kardashian as his newest client in September. He has since praised the reality star for knowing what she wants while giving him the freedom to experiment with her style.
Law Roach explains how his personal perspective shapes Kim Kardashian’s looks
According to PEOPLE, Roach discussed working with Kardashian at the InStyle Imagemaker Awards, where he was honored and presented by Heidi Klum. “She is such a beautiful person and nice and easy [to work with]. She knows what she wants, but she also lets you create,” he said.
Roach explained that his approach to styling Kardashian comes down to how he sees her. He believes different stylists can have their own interpretations of the same person, which allows them to create something unique.
“What’s different about from stylist to stylist, it’s just our perception of who the woman is, right? And so what I’m doing with Kim, it’s just the way I see Kim Kardashian,” he explained.
He added, “I may see her different than one of her other stylists, and that’s the beauty about fashion and being creative, is it’s just perception.” Roach described their collaboration as “really, really, really fun.”
Roach had also shared his thoughts on Kardashian’s influence in fashion and pop culture before they began working together. Last year, he commented on the attention surrounding SKIMS’ controversial pubic hair underwear and credited the Kardashian family for understanding what attracts public interest.
“Let me tell you something about Kim Kardashian, all the Kardashians. I think they really understand pop culture and I think that’s what makes them successful because we are all waiting to buy something from them,” Roach told Entertainment Tonight.
He continued, “Maybe they haven’t invented it yet, but I truly believe that they will. And when they do, we’ll all buy it. And I think that’s brilliant.” Roach’s latest comments show that his admiration for Kardashian extends beyond her public image. While he previously praised her understanding of pop culture, he now has the opportunity to work with her directly and bring his own creative perspective to her wardrobe.
