Calabrese discussed the moment during Marie Claire‘s conversation about Black women on Bravo. She declined to identify the person who called her aggressive and said she had asked uncomfortable, direct questions during the reunion.

“Being direct, does it make someone aggressive?” Calabrese asked. She said directness made her feel sure of herself. “We cannot confuse those two,” she added.

Calabrese defended asking difficult questions during the Summer House reunion. She said hard questions matter because people need answers and described her approach as necessary rather than aggressive.

Jasmine Goode supported Calabrese’s perspective. Goode said other cast members had behaved recklessly, but critics did not judge them similarly.

Calabrese also discussed her own behavior during the reunion. She said she typically kept her voice down during tense conversations. “There’s not an aggressive bone in my body,” Calabrese said.

She added that someone had called her aggressive for one of the first times in her life. She said a white man made the comment but declined to identify him.

After watching the reunion, Calabrese compared her behavior with that of her white friends onstage and felt some had acted more aggressively than she had. She said she found that contrast striking because the same man never used the label for her white friends despite their stronger reactions onstage during the same reunion.

“Those words never came out of his mouth about them,” Calabrese said. Her comments contributed to the broader discussion about how people perceive Black women on Bravo.

Calabrese also discussed how Black women can face different backlash on reality television. “We can do it, but we just know the backlash is going to be very different,” she said. She emphasized remaining authentic despite that criticism.
