The outlet says the interviewer then asked Emanuel where he thought Markle’s career might go next. He answered, “Here’s the great thing: I don’t have to think about that anymore.” That response adds a new wrinkle to a story that has produced conflicting claims for more than a year.
In February 2025, Page Six reported that insiders believed WME had dropped Markle. However, the agency publicly pushed back at the time. A spokesperson said WME continued to represent Markle and Archewell.
The situation remained murky afterward. Variety reported in April 2026 that WME still represented the Duchess and Archewell Productions. The outlet also said Emanuel no longer handled her day-to-day account.
